Be Proactive! You can make a difference.

For those of you who are not in the U.S. take the principles here and express the same concerns to your own representatives. The public dictates the course of our governments. If we do nothing that's what will happen. Get involved in changing laws to real "family values". Together we CAN make a difference.

September 24, 2001

To President Bush

As you were standing on the rubble of what use to be a great institution in New York you said "I can hear you. The rest of the world can hear you. And the people who knocked these buildings down will hear all of us soon." I like millions of other people shed tears at the moment the crowd started to chant "USA, USA". But there is a real irony in this event as well, that has gone largely unnoticed by all of our Government officials and many of our citizens. And I am praying now that you will HEAR ME AND THAT OUR GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS WILL HEAR ME.

As the foundation of the World Trade Towers was being poured, Legislators in this country were plotting the demise of another institution. As the stories of the World Trade Center rose another institution so vital to our country was falling apart. Thirty years ago the World Trade Center Opened and the Institution of Marriage began its steady decline into the rubble. Now both institutions are in rubble.

In your speech on September 11, 2001 you said "Tonight I ask for your prayers for all those who grieve, for the children whose worlds have been shattered, for all those whose sense of safety and security has been threatened." But where are the requests for prayers for all the people who are forced into unwanted divorces at the whim of only one spouse who finds it easier to walk out on a marriage then to resolve and work to save it? Where are the prayers for all the children whose families are shattered by divorce? Where are the prayers for all the people whose sense of safety and security are lost everyday by the sound of a judges gavel? We could not prevent the tragedy of September 11, 2001 but our own Government has created a tragedy whose victims number in the millions and they DO HAVE THE POWER TO CHANGE THAT.

Our Constitution is strong, it is the judges who are weak. Our forefathers understood that good men and women in the Legislatures would react to the passions of the times, and in that passion may overlook what is to be the foundation of our Country, our National and State Constitutions. They put the burden on the Courts to ensure that our Constitutions would be upheld against the emotion and passions of well intended but possibly misguided leaders.

The Washington State and Texas Supreme Courts have been asked to address the Constitutionally of No Fault Divorce and both have declined to do so. The Texas Supreme Court ruling just five days before this tragedy to not address this issue. Another irony, some of these Texas Supreme Court justices you have nominated for federal judgeships. One can only assume because you thought they would do their job and uphold the Constitutions. But they have shown that they won't even look at, much less address, the biggest issue confronting the welfare of our society and our children.

The Legislative social experiment of no fault divorce has failed. Thirty years ago as the World Trade Center was opened I didn't know a single child from a broken home. Now my children at the same age talk about how many different step parents and siblings from different parents their friends have and how they don't feel like a family but a hodge podge of people. My daughter is on a High School Dance Team and of the 27 girls only 7 have both their natural parents in the home with them. Did you realize when you asked Americans on September 20, 2001 to "hug their children" that most parents can not do that because of divorces?

There is no doubt that the events of September 11 are a National Tragedy, but so is the destruction of the American family. For all but the last 30 years our Government understood how important family was and worked hard to preserve the family. Now the family which has been termed the foundation of all civilized society is no longer deemed to be in the best interest of our society or worth preserving.

I pray that before we look to rebuild the World Trade Center, that we look to rebuild our families.

I pray that some judge somewhere will have the guts to actually look at all the violations of our National and State Constitutions that are violated every day in the divorce courts though out this county. And that they will do their job and uphold our Constitutions against legislative social experiments. I have not met a lawyer yet who has not said that every lawyer and every judge knows that the "family laws" are unconstitutional but that is just the way it is.

I pray that as we take on "operation infinite justice" that someone will reinstate justice to our country.

I pray that as we seek to hold the terrorists accountable for their actions that we will start to also hold parents accountable for theirs. I pray that parents, legislators and judges all over our country will remember that marriage was created by God and that our children are a gift from God, and that we have a duty to raise them in an intact family.

Unless our Government Officials step in and soon our society will not be destroyed by terrorist forces but by our Governments continued permission to place self about duty, honor, family and God. God hates divorce Malachi 2:16.
