Malachi 2:14-16

Regarding: Marriage/Divorce/Remarriage

FIRST let us state clearly that we do not believe that a divorce given in the court of man is automatically acknowledged by God. Nowhere in the Biblical Text or historical records can it be found that God has given His authority over marriage to the court of man. In fact we are admonished NOT to take a brother to a secular court. 1 Cor 6:1-8. It is mankind that is to bow to Gods rulings not the other way round.

There are religious courts that were established to govern by Gods rules and only those rulings are established in heaven. Only in the cases where the secular court by chance would administer the same ruling as the court of God will a divorce be acknowledged in the heavenlies. So it is the belief of this leadership that only those who are specially trained and have studied on the rules of marriage given to Israel and that were confirmed by Jesus Christ can even come close to making a judgment over a marriage being a covenant and it's dissolution. For what God has joined only God can put asunder. LET NO MAN presume to make that judgment without the specific education and anointing of God for that purpose.

We believe that marriage between believers is ordained by God to be a life long commitment between a man and woman with love, commitment, and fidelity for each other only. We do not believe that there can be more than one covenant marriage just because the court of man is willing to place themselves in the position of God in authority over marriages. We submit to the teachings of Jesus Christ as outlined in Matthew 19:3-9, Matthew 5:32, Mark 10:2-12, Luke 16:16-18. amp version

Matthew 19:6 says this: "So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore, what God has joined together, no man can separate." Only God can separate what God has joined. Please refer to this link for an explanation of our acceptance of marriages other than the first.

We support people who are standing for their marriages according to 1 Cor. 7:14.

We believe that God hates divorce as He says in His Word in Malachi 2:16, and that He has the power to restore marriages because God can and will bring people to repentance for their sins. We believe that the same God who sent Jesus to reconcile us to Himself is not only able but desires to bring reconciliation to husbands, wives, their children, and their families.

We believe that we are to show unconditional love administered with wisdom obtained by following the biblical text.

We believe in applying forgiveness to our spouses as God says in His Word in Ephesians 4:31-32 and 5:1-2 "Let all bitterness and wrath and anger, and clamor and slander be put away from you along with all malice." "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as Christ has forgiven you." "Therefore, be imitators of God as beloved children, and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you, and gave Himself up for us an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma."

We believe that while God is preparing our spouses to bring them home, that we are to use this time to heal, grow and draw closer to God; to allow God to work in our lives to help us become the Godly men and women and husbands and wives that He desires us to be. We believe according to scripture that God has a plan for us for good and not evil Jer 29:11 and while we walk in that plan we will be blessed.

We know that nothing is impossible for God. Luke 1:37 says, "For with God nothing is ever impossible and no word from God shall be without power or impossible of fulfillment." Matthew 19:26, Mark 10:27, Luke 18:27 confirm this statement. Our spouses are in Gods hands and God will work with them. God so loved them that He sent His only begotten Son. It is not Gods wish that any perish but that all come to repentance for their sins. 2 Peter 3:9. We also read that The Lord will leave the 99 to go after the one. Luke 15:4-5. So with that in mind we know Gods road of discipline balanced with Gods Love administered in Gods Wisdom and timing will bring about Gods best plan as our beloved walk the Lev 26 road.
