How do we keep standing when we see the sinful one "prospering" or seemingly getting their own way all the time or whatever brings discouragement? Please read all of this. It's directly from the Word of God and I believe has a powerful message to put the Stand into perspective for Standers. Printed out with half-inch margins it's about 2 pages. ( ) Inserts are by Rev. Dr. S.L. Gardner. Capital letters on words like My and He indicate these words are used to indicate the Godhead.
Matthew 16:26 "For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?" Mark 8:36 "For what shall it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, and lose his soul?"
As Standers we must always remember that cars rust and are eventually replaced, money is used for fire starters by those who are trying to survive plane crashes and save their own lives, houses are blown away in hurricanes and are replaced. Clothing wears out and we find ways to cover ourselves. Food can be obtained - but what of your eternal soul?
satan comes with the glitter of envy and maybe even jealousy when we see our beloved rebel prospering and prospering others with what is rightfully ours. You my dear are not headed for hell. Don't come into agreement with satan for the loss of your husbands/wives and possibly your own soul. God hates divorce, Malachi 2:16 to come into agreement with something God hates is sin.
Yes, I know some believe that there is an eternal guarantee of heaven for those who have accepted Christ as Savior but please understand that God does not allow unrepentant sin into heaven. If He did there would be no reason for the sacrifices to begin with and no reason for Jesus to come as the sacrificial lamb to cover repentant sin. Our stands involve eternal consequences not just who has the biggest house, newest car or largest income. Our stands involve the eternal souls of our spouses, our children and all those involved with our marriages. NEVER forget that you are called to stand. It is a calling and a high one, don't ever let anyone demean that or you for doing it. Don't let physical circumstances cause you to forget the high calling you have on your life.
Here is the Word of God on the subject of unrepentant sin. This puts into perspective what is at stake in our Stands. This was written to messianic believers just like you - believers in Jesus as the Only Begotten Son of the One True God our Savior and Lord. It is explaining that without repentance where Jesus sacrifice can cover sin there is no hope for a believer. Of course we know that without salvation there is no hope for anyone but that is not the issue here.
Hebrews 10:26 tells us, "For if we go on deliberately and willingly sinning after once acquiring the knowledge of the Truth, (Jesus) there is no longer any sacrifice left to atone for our sins, no further offering to which to look forward. There is nothing left for us then but a kind of awful and fearful prospect and expectation of divine judgment and the fury of burning wrath and indignation which will consume those who put themselves in opposition to God. Any person who has violated and thus rejected and set at naught the Law of Moses is put to death without pity or mercy on the evidence of two or three witnesses. How much worse, sterner and heavier punishment do you suppose he who is in Grace will be judged to deserve who has spurned and thus trampled underfoot the Son of God, and who has considered the covenant blood by which he was consecrated common and unhallowed, thus profaning it and insulting and outraging the Holy Spirit Who imparts grace which is the unmerited favor and blessing of God?" (Calling unrepentant sin holy by saying God will accept it in heaven is doing exactly what is described here.)
"For we know Him Who said, Vengeance is Mine, retribution and the meting out of full justice rest with Me; I will repay I will exact the compensation says the Lord, and again, The Lord will judge and determine and solve and settle the cause and the cases of His people. It is a fearful formidable and terrible thing to incur the divine penalties and be cast into the hands of the living God!" (Now doesn't Hosea 2 say that's exactly where our beloved rebels are and no one will rescue him out of Gods hand? That is a two edged sword that we pray will bring repentance and deliverance because the alternative is eternal destruction.)
But be ever mindful of the days gone by in which, after you were first spiritually enlightened, you endured a great and painful struggle. Sometimes being your self a gazing stock, publicly exposed to insults and abuse and distress, and sometimes claiming fellowship and making common cause with others who were so treated. For you did sympathize and suffer along with those who were imprisoned, and you bore the plundering of your belongings and the confiscation of your property, in the knowledge and consciousness that yourselves had a better and lasting possession. (Most Standers can identify with this definition at one point or another.)
Do not, therefore, fling away your fearless confidence for it carries a great and glorious compensation of reward. For you have need of steadfast patience and endurance, so that you may perform and fully accomplish the will of God, and thus receive and carry away and enjoy to the full what is promised. For still a little while and the Coming One will come and He will not delay.
The Just live by faith. My righteous servant shall live by his conviction respecting man's relationship to God and divine things, and holy fervor born of faith and conjoined with it. And if he draws back and shrinks in fear My soul has no delight in him. But our way is not that of those who draw back to eternal misery and are utterly destroyed, but we are of those who believe, who cleave to and trust in and rely on God through Jesus Christ, The Messiah and by faith preserve the soul. Now Faith is the assurance and confirmation - the title deed - of things we hope for, being the proof of things we do not see and the conviction of their reality. Faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses. (Heb 10:26-11:1)
Let us all come forward and draw near with true honest and sincere hearts in unqualified assurance and absolute conviction engendered by faith defined as leaning of the entire human personality on god in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness, having our hearts sprinkled and purified from a guilty evil conscience and our bodies cleansed with pure water. So let us seize and hold fast and retain without wavering the hope we cherish and confess and our acknowledgement of it for He Who promised is reliable, sure and faithful to His word.
And let us consider and give attentive continuous care to watching over one another studying how we may stir up to love and helpful deeds and noble activities. Heb 10:22-24 What more noble activity can a man have than to stand for the righteousness of God's covenant of marriage? By doing that we stand for not only this generation but we stand with holiness for future generations. So stand in the high calling God has placed upon you.
Take up your cross daily and follow HIM!! Luke 9:23
